Over het evenement
If you want to gain more insight into your own way of moving, if you want to learn to move more expressively, improve your observation skills or expand your movement vocabulary, then this 5-day training is for you. This training is also for people who are already familiar with LBMS (or Bartenieff Fundamentals / Laban Movement Analysis) and want to refresh or deepen their basic knowledge.
The Laban Bartenieff Movement System (LBMS) is a comprehensive system that allows us to observe, describe and understand the patterns of human movement. LBMS helps you to observe, articulate and choreograph better. It offers added value for the performance quality of dancers and actors, and it forms a good basis for improvisation work. You will also learn to use clear language to talk about movement. The practical experiences are theoretically substantiated, but we will mainly experiment and improvise in movement. We start every day by landing wonderfully in our body and using the Bartenieff Fundamentals and the Body component in the system to connect with ourselves and our body. strengthen. From there we also explore all other components.
LBMS provides an embodied theoretical framework describing the four basic components of movement (and their interrelationships): 'Body', 'Effort', 'Shape' and 'Space'. This rich system ensures the development of a very extensive movement vocabulary, optimizing movement efficiency, refining movement competencies and skills, and improving communication and expressiveness. From this framework and with these movement parameters, one can create, analyze, document and integrate movement in all its complexity.
"Movement is what is common to all human activities" Rudolf von Laban
This training introduces the Laban Bartenieff Movement System (LMBS), developed by Rudolf von Laban (1879-1958) and Irmgard Bartenieff (1900-1981), and their many students/successors. This experiential and theoretical approach to movement focuses on understanding and experiencing the basic elements of all our movement. With this analysis system, von Laban made a major contribution to the dance world at the beginning of the last century. But nowadays this system is also used in other disciplines including: visual arts, theater, dance therapy, music, sports, anthropology, in cultural studies and much more.
This training includes 32 hours of lessons and is intended for dance therapists, actors, dancers, dance teachers, theater teachers, physiotherapists,... and anyone interested in movement!
The training is valid as an admission requirement for the training in the Laban Bartenieff Movement System of EMOVE Institute. For more information please contact Marieke orview the website.
Accreditation by the SRVB is being requested.
Experiences of participants:
"This introduction has made me even more aware of my body in space. How important it is to be able to move my body from different angles. For anyone who works with the body or is curious about how he/she can connect more with the body highly recommended. Marieke's knowledge and skills and her infectiously enthusiastic guidance made these days a party."
"The training has given me a lot of insight into how my form of movement shows how I approach life. I notice that I am now more aware of my movements in the present moment and how it changes with, among other things, my feelings, the space within myself as around me."
"What a wealth! Thank you Marieke for allowing me to experience this new view on exercise! The training is an enormous enrichment."
"The introductory training exceeded my expectations. The training had a good balance of practice, theory and discussions. I really liked how the examples from daily life and professional contexts shed light on the various ways the system can support us. I also learned a lot about myself – not just about my movement patterns but about my personality as well. Marieke created a safe environment, which enabled us to open up to each other and form a real group."
